Sacred Threads Center is a nonprofit based in Newton, MA with a mission to nourish, connect, and inspire women by weaving spirituality into their everyday lives.
The non-denominational organization was co-founded in 2009 by Rosemary Mulvihill and Sr. Marie LaBollita, with the goal of creating a safe place where women could nurture their spirit, connect with one another, and find inspiration for their lives. Over the years, Sacred Threads Center has served women from all backgrounds and stages of life, enabling them to share their stories, learn from one another, and find strength, hope and belonging.
This year, the organization has undergone a change in leadership as Executive Director Mulvihill stepped down from the role after nearly sixteen years. Stephanie Page assumed the ED role in March, and looks forward to working collaboratively with members, donors, Board members and staff to lead Sacred Threads into the future.
In a world that can feel increasingly uncertain and overwhelming, Sacred Threads Center is committed to continuing to provide spaces shaped by women for women, to voice their experiences and find a welcoming spiritual home. This fall the organization resumes an ongoing speaker series, on the third Thursday of the month, with a theme of nourishing compassion. The series will explore ways to cultivate compassion in our personal and collective lives. The first webinar in the series, on September 18, explores how self-compassion can be a powerful force for transformation.
