With deep appreciation, we say farewell but not goodbye to longtime Board member Sirarpi Heghinian-Walzer, who recently stepped down from the Nonprofit Net Board.
Sirarpi has seen the organization through an amazing evolution, going back to its very early days. Involved with the organization since 2004, she has contributed to a wide variety of initiatives at NPN, including participating on communications, marketing and governance committees and serving as a leadership coach. She most recently served as vice president of the Board.
Sirarpi’s background makes it clear that she is someone who enjoys wearing many hats and exploring many perspectives – qualities especially valuable in a small, volunteer-led organization looking to make an impact.

Trained in both biomedical and systems engineering as well as in painting and stage design, Sirarpi has enjoyed a wide-ranging career. She has designed state-of-the-art pacemakers and infrared imaging systems, and served as a director of a small business IT consulting firm. She co-founded Art Without Borders, an online community that champions the rights of artists, and has become an artist appreciated for her overlay of imagery, broad color spectrum and range of figurative work.
Using oils, acrylics, inks, pastels, and found materials, Sirarpi creates works that are rich in layers - a testament to her appreciation of nuance, depth and connection. At NPN, we thank her for bringing that perspective to our organization, and for her many contributions to advancing the role and mission of the organization over the years.
