On December 6,2023, five talented Executive Directors of nonprofit organizations in Massachusetts completed The Leadership Acceleration Program (LAP) sponsored by Nonprofit Net. At the outset of the 10-month program, each participant set forth an organizational challenge that they proposed to work on for the duration of the program. An executive coach was available to each participant and the five-member LAP Peer group, joined by the coaching team, met periodically to share progress on their challenges and to provide support, resources and suggestions to each other. At the conclusion of the program, all participants cited measurable, meaningful progress in pursuing their performance challenges.
The Executive Directors who successfully completed the LAP program requirements in 2023 are:
Jonathan Goldman Executive Director, Student Clinic for Immigrant Justice
Joan Ilacqua Executive Director, The History Project
Samantha Nelson Executive Director, Boston By Foot
Danielle Piskadlo Executive Director, Women's Money Matters
(Chien-Chi Huang, former Executive Director of Asian Women for Health, left her position during the course of the program but remained a valuable resource to her peers).
This was the pilot LAP class and, over the course of the program, participants provided thoughtful, practical feedback on the value of the experience for them, and on potential enhancements to benefit future classes. Based on feedback from the five Executive Director participants and on the observations and experience of the coaching team, the Board of Directors of Nonprofit Net has voted, unanimously, to continue the program for a second round to commence in October, 2024 and to provide the resources to support an additional number of participants.
An announcement of the application deadline and program requirements will be forthcoming. LAP is a competitive program made available to all nonprofit Executive Directors, at no cost to participants.
