About the Event

The words Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) are everywhere right now. As businesses and

organizations struggle to express support for these principles, it is not always clear what these

words even mean. Many overstretched nonprofits with highly specific missions and focuses

face a special challenge if they want to meaningfully apply them.

This workshop offers a chance to outline the main tenets of DEI as connected to a social and

racial justice framework, and to explore multiple ways to apply an equity lens in your nonprofit.

We will discuss:

  • The question of diversity for board, staff and volunteers
  • DEI as a part of cultural change
  • Components of building a grounded strategy for change

This session will be interactive and participants will also have time in small groups to discuss

challenges and report back for collective discussion.
